Authorities have identified the fallen parole officer in Thursday’s hit-and-run crash near downtown Colorado Springs. Officer Christine Guerin Sandoval died at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central after sustaining injuries from being hit by the suspect vehicle. A funeral service for fallen El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Peery was held Monday at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, followed by a law enforcement processional. Peery was killed after responding to a shooting on Sunday, Aug. 7, in Widefield. Two others died, according to authorities.
