WWII veteran, First Sgt. Harold Nelson, is awarded Silver Star in Fort Carson ceremony
First Sargeant Harold Nelson, 107, of Aurora is awarded the Silver Star by Maj. Gen. Charles D. Costanza. Nelson is believed to be Colorado’s oldest World War II veteran and was given the award for “gallantry in action.”
