Situated on the south side of US 50, less than a mile west of CO 115 on Malibu Boulevard in Penrose, Dakota Hot Springs is an easily accessible hot springs pool that’s open year-round. A six-foot wide tub sits at the pool’s center, filled by an Artesian well with steamy water that overflows into the 70-foot wide concrete pool. A volleyball net, sun deck, canopies and lounge chairs provide an easy, fun atmosphere for soaking, sunning, or poolside snacking. Dakota Hot Springs welcomes tent- and RV-campers, as well as day soakers. A lounge area with a wood stove provides a cozy place to warm up between soaks in wintertime. The site is clothing optional Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays, and bathing suits are required on Tuesdays. Call ahead for rates and hours.
