1. Estes Park, Colorado

Estes Park is a perfect escape from Fort Collins into the Rockies. Only an hour away from downtown Fort Collins, Estes Park is home to Rocky Mountain National Park, the famous Stanley Hotel, as well as a beautiful downtown area. Spending time in Rocky Mountain National Park—whether you’re hiking, driving the famed Trail Ridge Road, or wildlife viewing—is one of the best ways to experience the beauty of Colorado.

2. Loveland, Colorado

    Located just west of the old Hughes Stadium, Horsetooth Reservoir is a beautiful blue reservoir surrounded by rolling hills. It’s one of the premier day trips from Fort Collins. In the summer, take a boat out on the reservoir or explore one of the many trails nearby.

    4. Windsor, Colorado

    Just east of Fort Collins, Windsor is growing quickly and is famous for its summer Concert in the Park series. Check out Windsor’s Labor Day weekend Harvest Festival where the town puts together a whole weekend of activities, parades, and a carnival.

    5. Red Feather Lakes
