‘Severe’ thunderstorms, hail, and lightning headed for parts of Front Range

Severe thunderstorms are forecast to hit Colorado Springs and Denver Friday afternoon into Friday night, meteorologists say.

The National Weather Service in Pueblo predicted a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. and a 40 percent chance before midnight.

Large hail- up to 2 inches in diameter- is possible.

Though the storm is expected to be less extreme, chances of thunderstorms and showers will continue through Saturday night, ending about midnight.

Sunday morning is forecast to be most cloudy before another chance of thunderstorms and rain moves into the city Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.
