Ski resorts show support for Black Lives Matter movement in Colorado
As protests continue to spread throughout the Centennial State following the death of George Floyd, many major outdoor brands are calling out for justice, including some of Colorado’s resorts.
Steamboat Resort light up the mountain on Monday “in solidarity with our black team members, skiers, snowboarders, and all those fighting for a brighter future.”
Aspen Snowmass also shared a quote on Twitter from James Baldwin captioned with the phrase “Be the voice of change.” They utilized hashtags of #Vote2020 and #BlackLivesMatter.
Other outdoor recreation brands showing support for the Black Lives Matter movement include the following:
On Sunday, Patagonia addressed the death of George Floyd with the following statement, “We have work to do. We join with those who call out the names of George Floyd and too many others in sorrow and anger.”
As more brands continue to use their audience and voice to reach their communities, the message of the Black Lives Matter movement continues to spread.
