Winter Park Resort won’t sell walk-up lift tickets in 2020-21 season
In an effort to avoid overcrowding, Winter Park Resort has announced it will prioritize pass holders for the 2020-21 ski and snowboard season.
Winter Park’s parent company, Alterra Mountain Company, said it hopes to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and to keep staff, guests and the surrounding communities healthy.
Alterra CEO Rusty Gregory said in a statement that Winter Park Resort will not sell walk-up lift tickets this season and the sale of the most undated lift ticket products will stop until further notice.
Arapahoe Basin season passes won't be restricted in 2020-21
Full refunds are available on lodging as long as trips are canceled at least three weeks out.
Full refunds for lift tickets, rentals, lessons and other activities will be issued with at least a one-week cancelation.
The resort is scheduled to open Nov. 18.
Arapahoe Basin Ski Area earlier announced it would require reservations for Ikon Pass holders.
Winter Park, Arapahoe Basin and seven other ski areas in the state use the Ikon Pass.
Four resorts in Aspen – Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain Buttermilk and Snowmass – have pending announcements on whether skiers will need to book reservations.
Eldora and Steamboat have said skiers do not have to make reservations at this time.
