Colorado’s pesticide program is going virtual

Colorado is launching a new online licensing system for its Pesticide Applicator Program, the Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) announced Thursday.

The online portal will handle Limited Commercial registrations, Public Applicator registrations, Commercial Applicator businesses and licensees for individual Qualified Supervisors, Certified Operators and Private Applicators.

The new program will enhance the efficiency and ease of the license and renewal process, CDA said in a release Thursday.

The online system requires all licensure documents to be uploaded or emailed at the time of the application or renewal in PDF or JPEG format. Licensure documents are available for download during the online licensing process, CDA said.

Licensees will receive notification prior to license expiration and should not submit a renewal application until notified. Early submissions will be rejected.

Colorado was one of few states in the country to continue pesticide applicator testing and continuing education courses for the pesticide applicator industry during COVID-19.

CDA will no longer accept paper applications and renewals. Exceptions can be requested if applicants do not have access to the online system.
