New E-470 ramp to open in Aurora
A new E-470 ramp connecting to Gun Club Road in Aurora has completed construction and will open to the public Monday at 10 a.m.
The ramp is a relocation of the E-470 northbound ramp to Quincy Avenue. Officials said the change will help to ease congestion at the intersection of Quincy Avenue and Gun Club Road.
The project was part of the E-470 Road Widening Project, adding a third lane in each direction between Quincy Avenue and Interstate 70 and widening bridge structures at various locations.
Construction for the third lane began in summer 2019. The first phase of the widening project was completed in 2017 between Parker Road and Quincy Avenue.
Construction of the Quincy Avenue and Gun Club Road intersection will continue into 2021 to adjust the new flow of traffic, officials said.
The new ramp was completed in conjunction with Arapahoe County and the city of Aurora.
