Pueblo PD investigating afternoon shooting, asking public for help

Pueblo police are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon and left a man seriously injured.

The victim, who was shot in his leg, is expected to survived, according to the media release. 

Shortly after 1:30 p.m., authorities responded to a shooting in the 800 block of Palmer Avenue, just northeast of the Colorado State Fairgrounds. 

Prior to the officers arriving the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle described as a Honda, possibly a Civic, with a gold spoiler and loud muffler. 

The suspect has been described by authorities as a short Hispanic male, thin build and was last seen wearing all black prior to entering the vehicle. 

Law enforcement is encouraging anyone with information about the incident to contact Officer Venegas at 719-553-3316, or the Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 719-542-7867.

Any information leading the arrest could earn a money reward, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing.
