Denver PD investigating overnight shooting

Denver Police are investigating a shooting that left a man with several gunshot wounds Friday night. 

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2700 block of West Archer Place in the Valverde neighborhood just before midnight on Friday, said Kurt Barnes, a public information officer with the department. 

A victim was found with two gunshot wounds and was transported to a nearby medical facility with non-life threatening injuries.

It is not known whether the victim and shooter knew each other, Barnes said. 

Authorities are currently working to try and identify a subject and are encouraging anyone who has knowledge of the situation to contact the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.

The investigation is ongoing.
