A 64-year-old Boulder woman reported missing and endangered was found Monday night in her vehicle in the woods, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
The woman was last seen about 11 a.m. Sunday in Boulder.
Officials said a hiker reported a suspicious vehicle in the woods on Monday at 3 p.m. near the 8000 block of Magnolia Road.
Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle but identified the license plate number as belonging to the missing woman.
After recontacting the hiker for a better description, deputies returned to the area at 6:30 p.m. and followed vehicle tracks that led off-road into a thickly wooded area south of the road.
The woman was located inside her vehicle 500 yards into the woods, completely hidden from the road. Officials said the woman was “in obvious medical distress.”
The woman was taken to Boulder Community Hospital via a medical evacuation helicopter. Her current status is unknown.
The Timberline Fire Department and Gilpin County Ambulance also assisted in the rescue.
