Two men got into a physical altercation Saturday outside of a Safeway in Loveland after a confrontation about a face covering, the Loveland Police Department said.
Police said they believe the argument escalated to one of the men hitting the other over the head with a window scraper and breaking his cell phone.
LPD was called to the scene on a report that a 27-year-old man had been hit in the head at 10:45 a.m. at 2321 W. Eisenhower Blvd.

Police said surveillance footage shows the 27-year-old enter the Safeway as a 40-year-old man exits wearing a blue bandana around his neck without covering his mouth.
The younger man is seen confronting the older man, who then steps back inside the store. The younger man then runs towards the older man, pulling out a cell phone and apparently recording the older man as he leaves.
The surveillance footage ends at that point, but witnesses told police that the younger man then followed the older man outside and confronted him again.
The two argued, eventually making their way to the older man’s vehicle. Once reaching the vehicle, the older man took a window scraper from the car and hit the younger man over the head, police said.

When the younger man fell to the ground, the older man picked up his cell phone and broke it before driving away.
LPD said both men could face charges of disorderly conduct. The department is also considering charges of assault and criminal mischief.
The identities of both men are not being released at this time because police have not yet located one of them. Police said they have identified the older man who fled the scene but have not been able to contact him.
