Denver International Airport - DIA

Non-stop travel from Denver to Panama out of Denver International Airport resumed Friday, officials said.

Three different flights by Copa Airlines will depart DIA at 1 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday as the airport and airlines begin to resume international travel.

“During these trying times, we’re pleased to report that airlines are adding routes and services to Denver. Though travel to international destinations has been slower to return, we are encouraged to see some airlines resumed service to a from DEN,” said Alex Renteria, a spokesperson for DIA.

Services to Panama City and other international destinations were canceled In March due to the COVID-19 pandemic that struck Colorado and the world.

Nearly 55,000 travelers flew to the Central American city in 2019, Renteria said.

Despite many countries in Europe and South and Central America retaining travel restrictions because of COVID-19, DIA began resuming international as early as June to Guadalajara, Mexico.

Cities in Canada, Germany, Mexico Liberia and Panama are all countries all reachable through DIA, but officials recommend researching the access to specific countries before planning a trip.

As the likelihood of a COVID-19 being administered throughout the United States becomes more realistic by the second, Renteria says they anticipate more international flights to resume in the near future.

“We anticipate additional international service to resume as governments lift restriction and demand for international travel returns,” she said.
