Aurora store clerk assaulted over face mask request, police say
The Aurora Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of assaulting a store clerk who asked him to wear a face mask.
A Sinclair employee at 14401 E. 6th Ave. in Aurora asked the suspect to wear a mask after he entered the gas station shortly before 11 a.m. on Jan. 4, APD officials said in a tweet.
A manager at the store said the man also spit at the employee, whom he described as a woman in her 30s.
The suspect then assaulted the employee and caused serious bodily injuries to her face, before fleeing in a blue Audi Series A with a temporary license plate.
Authorities are encouraging anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to contact the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
