State fire agency announces Community Risk Reduction Week

The Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control announced it is taking part in the national Community Risk Reduction Week that runs until Sunday.

The goal of CRR Week is for fire agencies across the United States to educate local community members in hopes to reduce the number of fire events.

DFPC says it will share a video a day on its social media pages that will highlight five separate focuses that will help reduce the community’s fire risks that caused an estimated $25.6 billion in property damage across the U.S. in 2018.

CRR organizers created “the five E’s” that represent education, engineer, enforcement, economic incentive and emergency response that local agencies will highlight throughout the week.

Anyone with information about CRR Week can go online to crrweek.org or DFPC’s website.
