Evacuations lifted for 446-acre grass fire in Jefferson County
Evacuations have been lifted after a fire burned 446 acres in Lakewood near Morrison Road and Fox Hollow Golf Course on Sunday, West Metro Fire Rescue said.
Residents were evacuated near Bear Creek Lake Park and the golf course as well as the Fox Hollow and Homestead neighborhoods.
Evacuations were also ordered for those from Morrison Road and Hampden Avenue, and between C-470 and Kipling Parkway.
North Metro and South Metro fire rescues sent 19 fire engines and 110 firefighters to help fight the fire.

North Metro officials said the majority of the fire was out by 4 p.m. Fire crews worked overnight putting out hotspots.
Winds pushed the fire mostly toward the east along Morrison Road, North Metro officials said.
The neighborhood east of the fire from Owens Lane to Kipling is now being evacuated. Evacuation center is Bear Creek High School. Several agencies are assisting. Fire continues to be driven by the wind mostly toward the east. pic.twitter.com/3KvBBU8NFP

No structures burned. Morrison Road was closed in both directions but has since reopened.
