Water World COVID testing site to close permanently this month

Water World

The free COVID-19 testing site at Water World is set to close its doors permanently on March 25, Adams County announced Tuesday.

The site, located in Federal Heights, is one of the largest testing sites in the Denver metro area, administering 250,000 COVID-19 tests since it opened six months ago. At its height, the site administered 4,300 tests per day.

“We are so grateful for the partnership with the Governor’s Office, Federal Heights and MAKO,” said County Commissioner Eva Henry. “This group quickly came together during a crisis and provided a critical service to our community.”

The site provides free, drive-up COVID-19 tests without requiring a state ID, Social Security number or insurance, making it an important asset for Colorado’s undocumented residents.

The last day for testing at Water World will be Wednesday, March 24. Tests will be administered without reservations until 7 p.m.

Those who get tested at Water World during the week of March 21 will receive results in approximately two to four days through their Luminate account.

“This iconic landmark was the perfect location for one of the largest and busiest COVID-19 testing sites across the state,” said County Manager Raymond Gonzales.

“This site continually ramped up operations to meet the needs of the community.”

Free COVID-19 tests will continue to be available in Adams County at the following locations:
