The Arapahoe County Courthouse reopened Monday afternoon after closing for a bomb squad investigation into suspicious packages left in the area.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said it received reports of the suspicious packages at around 11:45 a.m. The packages were dropped off in the parking lot of the courthouse at 7325 S. Potomac St. in Centennial.
The Sheriff’s Office bomb squad was immediately called to investigate the packages, at which point the parking lot and courthouse were closed.
The Sheriff’s Office announced the packages were found to not be a threat just after 2 p.m. The courthouse and parking lot reopened shortly after.
Deputies said the packages were devices made to look like bombs, and were put inside hard-cased Pelican boxes used to carry sensitive equipment.
The Sheriff’s Office will continue to investigate who left the packages.
