An Adams County family and their dog have been displaced from their home after a fire Tuesday morning.
Adams County Fire Department crews were dispatched to the area of West 55th Avenue and Federal Boulevard after a report of a trailer on fire.
Upon their arrival, crews observed the front side of the trailer engulfed in smoke and flames, and began evacuation efforts.
Crews successfully evacuated four residents and their dog who were all unharmed, said Julie Browman, the public information officer for the department.
Within 30 minutes, the fire was contained and an investigation ensued.
Officials determined the cause of the fire was accidental by nature as a shelf fell on a generator and ignited the blaze, Browman said.
The Red Cross is working with the family to accommodate their living situation.
