Northglenn man in custody after alleged robbery, assault
A 36-year-old Northglenn man is in custody in connection to a robbery and assault at a liquor store Friday evening.
Police said Joseph Thomas, 36, entered a liquor store in the 1700 block of East 112th Avenue at 6:30 p.m. and allegedly grabbed a bottle of alcohol and left without paying.
According to a witness statement, two employees confronted Thomas outside of the store, which led to thief allegedly punching one of them.
Thomas allegedly fled the scene on a small electric scooter.
Later in the evening, officers responded to a report of disturbance in the 3000 block of East 112th Avenue and recognized Thomas as the suspect from the earlier robbery and assault, police said.
Thomas is currently being held in the Adams County Detention Facility, according to the jail’s online roster.
