2 suspects arrested, 3 stolen cars recovered in Boulder County
A report of littering to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the recovery of three stolen vehicles and the arrests of two vehicle theft suspects Saturday.
Deputies said Logan Dodge, 25, and Jesse Teneyck, 32, were arrested for three counts of aggravated motor vehicle theft and criminal possession of burglary tools, financial transaction devices and identifying documents.
Dodge was also charged with vehicular eluding, reckless driving and driving under restraint. Teneyck was charged with violation of a protection order, violation of bond conditions and failure to comply.
A resident called the sheriff’s office about 11:15 a.m. Saturday, saying people were throwing trash out of two vehicles near Driftwood Place and Kalua Road in unincorporated Boulder County.
Deputies searched for the vehicles, a white Jeep and a silver Audi, and discovered they had been reported stolen out of Longmont.
Responding deputies found the Jeep abandoned at the call location and the Audi was near Twin Lakes Road and Brandon Creek Drive. The deputies pulled over the Audi, at which point the passenger jumped out and ran away.
The driver, identified as Dodge, was taken into custody. The passenger, identified as Teneyck, was taken into custody by the Boulder Police Department after searching the surrounding area.
During the search, officers also found a third stolen vehicle next to where Teneyck was taken into custody.
In addition to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, the Colorado State Patrol, Boulder Police Department and Longmont Police Department assisted with the investigation.
