Man critically injured after road rage shooting in Aurora

A man is critically injured after he was shot during a road rage incident Wednesday afternoon, the Aurora Police Department announced via Twitter.

Police said the shooting started on Interstate 225 and continued onto Parker Road where multiple shots were fired. The police department announced the incident just after 1 p.m.

One suspect is in custody in connection to the shooting but has not yet been arrested or charged, police said. No information has been released about the suspect’s identity.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition but is now expected to survive, police said.

No additional injuries have been reported. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can be anonymous and are eligible for a $2,000 reward.

Southbound Parker Road was closed for over two hours as officers investigated the scene. The road has since reopened. The I-225 exits to Parker Road have also reopened.
