One person was wounded in a shooting in the Villa Park neighborhood, the Denver Police Department announced. The suspected shooter is in custody.

Police said the shooting happened shortly after midnight Wednesday in the 900 block of King Street, near King Street and West Ninth Avenue.

The victim, a man, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Police said they made an arrest in connection to the shooting about 9 a.m. Wednesday. Police have not released the identity of the suspect or their relationship with the victim.

No information is available regarding what led up to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
