Greeley-based JBS Foods target of cyberattack

Greeley-based JBS Foods, the worlds largest meat supplier, has become the latest victim of an “organized cybersecurity attack,” the company accounted Monday.

In a statement acquired by The Denver Gazette, the company said the attack impacted some of the food company’s IT systems in North America and Australia.

“The company took … immediate action, suspending all affected systems, notifying authorities and activating the company’s global network of IT professionals and third-party experts to resolve the solution,” the statement read.

JBS Foods is actively working with an incident response firm to restore its systems as soon as possible. The company’s backup servers were unaffected by the attack, according to the statement.

There is no indication of any customer, supplier or employee data being compromised or misused as a result of the attack, the statement added.

“Resolution of the incident will take time, which may delay certain transactions with customers and suppliers,” the statement said.

Attempts by The Denver Gazette to reach JBS Foods for additional comment on Monday were unsuccessful.
