Berthoud middle school teacher arrested for alleged sexual assault of student
A teacher at Turner Middle School in Berthoud was arrested Wednesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old student, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Kyle Faust, 24, has been charged with sexual assault of a child while in a position of trust, enticement of a child, internet sexual exploitation of a child and internet luring of a child.
Deputies said the sheriff’s office received a tip on June 9 from the Safe2Tell reporting system, claiming Faust was having an inappropriate relationship with a student at the middle school.
The investigation revealed that Faust’s alleged crimes against the 13-year-old victim began in March and occurred inside and outside of the school, deputies said.
A search and arrest warrant was issued Wednesday and Faust was taken into custody without incident at his home in Thornton, deputies said.
Faust is being held in the Adams County Jail. Bond has not been set as of Thursday morning.
