Crocs announces it’s making cowboy boots — no, seriously

Crocs cowboy boots

Crocs cowboy boots are actually happening. You read that right.

The Colorado-based footwear company on Friday revealed what it called “one of the most widely requested Crocs shoe designs in brand history” — its first-ever cowboy boot.

“For years, the buzz around a Crocs-inspired cowboy boot has been building, creating a genuine fan-fueled movement trending across social media,” the company said in a news release. “Recognizing this passion, Crocs is making fan dreams come true, turning the Crocs Classic Cowboy Boot into a reality: a testament to the brand’s commitment to and celebration of Croc Nation.”

An image released by the company features an all-black Crocs boot complete with ventilation holes above the sole that fans will recognize from the classic Crocs clog. It also has a sheriff style gold star Jibbitz, a crocodile skin embossed texture and “legit” Western style embroidery on the sides of the boots. It even has shiny, spinnable spur attached to its back strap.

Numerous fans responded with excited comments on social media when Crocs revealed the boots Friday.

“If they sell out before me and my boyfriend get matching pairs im [sic] gonna be angry,” wrote user @MrsMcQueen95 on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Broomfield-based company said its Crocs Classic Cowboy Boot will be sold for a limited time on Crocs.com and at select stores beginning on Oct. 23, which it called “Croc Day,” part of a larger month-long celebration the company called “Croctober.”

“Croc Day was born by our fans so we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate them than by bringing their ideas to life not just for one day, but all month long,” Heidi Cooley, Chief Marketing Officer at Crocs, said in a new release. “At Crocs, we ‘stan’ our fans!”
