Wildfire grows quickly overnight, burning through steep and rugged Colorado terrain
A wildfire burning in rugged Pueblo County terrain continues to grow in Colorado.
At last report, the Saint Charles Fire had reached 15 acres, showing significant growth from a report issued around noon on October 17 that the blaze was just 1.3 acres.
Burning in steep terrain that’s difficult to access, firefighter safety has been a key concern in the firefighting effort, resulting in the use of aerial tactics to calm the blaze.
No structures are threatened and no evacuation orders have been issued, with the fire located in a remote area northeast of Lake Isabel.
