3 shot at Adams County house party, suspects arrested

Adams County Sheriff’s deputies continue to investigate a shooting at a house party that left three injured on Thursday.
Deputies, along with Thornton police officers, responded to a shooting at 1200 block of Essex Drive around 1 a.m. on Thursday, according to a social media post by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, responders found three people with non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting occurred during a house party at a short-term rental property, according to the post.
The incident began as an altercation between two people who had handguns at the party, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told The Denver Gazette. Suspects were arrested at the scene and are currently being interviewed.
The spokesperson said it was an isolated incident, not a mass shooting. But, with the number of witnesses at the shooting, interviewing and investigating will take time.
This is the second shooting at a party in the Denver area this month. Six were injured, and three killed, at a Halloween party at 12445 E. 39th Ave. on Oct. 14. That incident also began as an alleged altercation between partygoers.
