Police chased a suspect through the area of Montbello on Friday evening. Once the pursuit ended, officers found the man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in their vehicle.

Denver officers began a vehicular pursuit of a suspect around 8 p.m. on Friday, according to a social media post by the Denver Police Department. The department noted that police were in the area of E. 45th Ave. and Peoria St. attempting to find the person. 

Parts of Peoria Street were closed during the incident. 

The suspect allegedly rammed two police vehicles during the pursuit. One officer was injured and transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, according to the post.

“When officers attempted to contact the suspect, the suspect was found deceased in the vehicle from what appears to be a self inflicted gunshot wound,” the department said.
