1 dead after alleged road rage shooting in Denver

One driver allegedly shot another man during a road rage incident in the Ballpark District on Friday evening. The victim eventually died from his injuries.

Police responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Park Avenue and Wazee Street around 5 p.m. on Friday, according to a social media post by the Denver Police Department. Upon arrival, responders found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries. His identity will later be released by the Office of the Medical Examiner following investigation.

In a subsequent post, the department claimed the incident appeared to be a road rage situation involving two motorists. One motorist shot the other and remained at the scene, according to the post. The suspect had not been arrested at the time of the release.

Outbound Park Avenue was closed for the duration of the investigation.
