Suspected DUI driver hits 2 officers, 2 firefighters in Commerce City
Police said the driver is in custody
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Two police officers and two firefighters were injured by a suspected DUI driver in Commerce City Thursday night.
The Commerce City Police Department said the officers and South Adams County firefighters were investigating a separate crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 76 near Sable Boulevard when they were struck.
Police said the DUI driver drove around their barricades before crashing into the scene.
The officers and firefighters were all taken to the hospital. The police department said both of their officers are expected to be OK. It’s not clear how seriously the firefighters were hurt.
The driver is in custody, police said.
