A taste of Top Chef in Colorado: Chef Manny Barella hosts pop-up dinners at Cantina Loca
Colorado foodies will have a prime opportunity to sample offerings from a local contestant from the upcoming season of Bravo’s Top Chef, well before the new season premieres on March 20.
Chef Manny Barella, culinary director at Camp Pickle and Jaguar Bolera, was announced as the sole Colorado contestant on the upcoming season. Bravo announced the full lineup of 15 contestants on Wednesday, which it bills as “talented, rising star chefs and James Beard nominees from across the country.”
Camp Pickle is a pickleball eatery and entertainment concept inspired by 1940s-era National Parks and camp culture. It will open next to the Top Golf in Centennial in early 2024, although no official opening date has been announced yet.

In the meantime, Barella is hosting “Mientras, a Manny Barella Pop Up” weekly at Cantina Loca, every Monday and Tuesday evening starting Feb. 26. Limited tickets for this four-course dinner experience are now available for pre-purchase at a cost of $110 per person and $160 with cocktail pairings.
Tickets to the tasting can be purchased on Chef Manny Barella’s website.
Barella, who is a 2022 James Beard semifinalist in the Emerging Chef category, presents a creative menu which includes highlights like steak tartar with salsa macha; lobster tetela smoked and served with Oaxaca cheese; and pastel de elote con nieve.
