Goldfinch opens on south Broadway
A new cocktail bar mixing Hollywood glamor with ski lodge coziness is set to open Wednesday on South Broadway.
The Goldfinch will be an upscale drinking and dining destination with craft drinks and an international menu featuring European, Middle Eastern and Asian foods such as shakshuka, Moroccan stewed tomatoes and Japanese crab salad and black tobiko, according to a news release.
Its signature cocktail “Goldfinch” will be made of blanco tequila, spicy yellow pepper, roasted pineapple syrup and egg whites.
Its entertainment will feature cabaret and house music mixed by a DJ, the release said.
The location on 1842 S. Broadway is owned by Denver chef Iain Chisholm, who used to run RiNo’s Americatus and DADA Art Bar before working in culinary production. In addition to evening drinks, The Goldfinch will be open for weekend brunch between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Once it debuts, its daily hours will be 4 p.m. to 12 p.m. from Tuesdays to Thursdays, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Best Buy store closure
Electronic retailer Best Buy closed one of its stores in Centennial.
The company did not renew its lease at 6707 S. Vine St., southwest of University Boulevard and Arapahoe Road, and closed on March 2, Best Buy officials confirmed.
Best Buy is reviewing its locations as leases expire to determine which stores to keep open, the company said via email. The national retailer is no longer using a “one size fits all” method and is creating different formats for each community such as an “Experience” store, outlets or smaller pilot stores.
Best Buy’s experience stores, like the one on Colorado Boulevard, have immersive technology demonstrations and have more products for electric transportation like scooters and bikes, health and fitness technology and outdoor living.
Nearest to the closed Centennial location, Best Buy still has stores in southeast Denver at 8682 Park Meadows Center Dr. in Lone Tree and an Aurora Best Buy Outlet at 1600 S. Abilene St., off I-225 and Mississippi Avenue.
