TRAVEL ALERT: “Treacherous” conditions in Colorado with 20-plus inches still on the way
The Colorado Department of Transportation has issued a ‘travel alert’ through Friday amid driving conditions that they’re calling “treacherous.”
Multiple closures are in place already on I-70, with more closures expected on various roads around the state throughout the day.
After a lull in snow on Thursday morning, snow should pick back up by the evening and stretch into the night.
Mapping from the National Weather Service showed that 48-plus inches could still fall on some peaks from Thursday into Friday in the ‘high-end’ snowfall scenario. In the more likely ‘expected’ scenario, much of the Denver metro area still get at least eight more inches of snow.
Travel will likely remain rough into Friday.
