How much snow fell? Totals from mid-April storm around Colorado

A fast moving but intense winter storm blew into Colorado on Monday night, dropping anywhere from a couple of inches to nearly three feet of snow in the mountains west of Denver and Fort Collins.

Colorado’s skiing and snowboarding resorts saw totals over 12 inches as well.

Wind gusts along the urban corridor ranged from 35-45 mph Tuesday, with gusts into the 60s in the mountains, but the main focus of the storm was heavy, dense snow that fell in the mountains.

A winter storm warning remained in effect for portions of the northern mountains to 3 p.m., MDT on Monday as Colorado’s high peaks received more snow before the storm was forecast to wind down later Tuesday.
