3-year-old Coloradan reportedly died from accidental drowning in canal near home

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has published a report indicating that the death of 3-year-old Amari Galan, of Rocky Ford, was due to accidental drowning.

Amari was reported missing on Saturday, May 18, found the following day in a local irrigation canal. It’s believed he left his house in the early morning hours on foot in only a diaper.

Amari’s body was found several miles downstream in the canal, which runs directly behind his family’s home.

Condolences go out to those impacted by Amari’s tragic death.

This report is a preliminary autopsy report and may be updated, as this is an ongoing investigation.
