Sheridan woman shot and killed in domestic violence incident, police say

Police have suspect information but have not made an arrest yet

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that may have started as a domestic violence incident in Sheridan.

The Sheridan Police Department responded to a shooting at a residence around 5 a.m. Thursday in the 3400 block of West Dill Road, according to a social media post from the department. A woman was found deceased with an “apparent” gunshot wound, police said.

Police later identified the incident as a “domestic violence situation” and said there was no threat to the community around 8 a.m., following preliminary investigations.

The police have identified a suspect in the incident but have yet to make any arrests.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office following investigations.
