Here’s how you can get to the Five Points Jazz Festival on RTD

With Saturday’s Five Points Jazz Festival quickly approaching, the Regional Transportation District reminded residents of available transit options along the Welton Street Corridor.

The annual event is expected to draw up to 100,000 people and celebrates the history of Denver’s Five Points neighborhood.

The transit agency encouraged residents to use Bus Route 43, which runs along Stout and California Streets in downtown, and proceeds to follow Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. after crossing Downing Street.

Additionally, the Free MetroRide, which operates along 18th and 19th Streets between Union Station and Civic Center Station, has been temporarily reinstated. These busses run every ten minutes, according to a RTD news release.

A map of Route 43 and the Free MetroRide can be found online, as well as their schedules.

The L-Line will remain closed. Typically, during the Five Points Jazz Festival the L-Line is suspended between downtown and the 30th and Downing Street Station. But this year, it is shut down as a result of RTD’s major downtown rail reconstruction project.

Customers can expect L-Line service to remain suspended through mid-September.

The transit agency also encourages potential riders to sign up for service alerts concerning their specific route. The rtd-denver.com website also has a “plan a trip” page, where riders can figure out exactly when to leave, where to go and when to get off.
