Colorado Springs breaks daily temperature record – for second time in three-year stretch

According to the National Weather Service, Colorado Springs has broken the daily temperature record for June 13 – for the second time in a three-year stretch.

Temperatures climbed to 96 degrees in Colorado Springs at about 3 p.m. on Thursday, breaking the old record for June 13 of 95 degrees, set in 2022.

Meanwhile, temperatures were even hotter just south of Colorado Springs in Pueblo. Temperatures in Pueblo reached a high of 103 by 4 p.m., breaking a record that was also set in 2022.

Out west, Grand Junction was also hot, hitting a high of 101 and tying a temperature record from 2021.

While temperatures are expected to drop back into the 80s along the Front Range on a stormy Friday, more 90-degree days are on the way this weekend into next week.
