The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a string of thefts that’s been taking place in recent weeks involving ATVs, UTVs, and other items. According to law enforcement, the suspects appear to be armed with high-powered rifles while committing the alleged crimes.

Cities in this area include Idaho Springs and Central City, with local towns being Empire, Georgetown, and Silver Plume. Authorities did not specify exactly where the thefts have occurred.

Images of two large pick-up trucks – one black and one white – accompanied a social media post about the situation.

Advice from authorities was simple: Lock your doors, secure your vehicles, and if you see something, call 911 immediately. Do not attempt to contact these individuals if spotted. Anyone with information that may help to identify the suspects should contact local law enforcement.
