The Cherry Cricket expanding to Broomfield

Denver’s popular burger joint The Cherry Cricket is opening a fourth location, the restaurant announced Monday.

The restaurant chain offering build-your-own burgers is set to open next summer in Broomfield’s Town Center on 1280 E. 1st Ave. It’s the latest expansion since its opening in Ballpark in 2018 and Littleton in 2023.

The Broomfield restaurant will take the spot of the former Old Chicago restaurant. It’s an 8,500-square-foot space and can seat 300 guests. The location will also have a covered patio and “Burger Garden.”

“We searched extensively across the Denver metro area for the ideal location for our next Cherry Cricket, and we fell in love with Broomfield’s strong sense of community,” said Alex Bunn, chief marketing officer and vice president of growth for The Cherry Cricket’s parent company Breckenridge-Wynkoop, LLC, in a statement.

The new restaurant is expected to add 150 jobs to the area, according to the announcement.

“Over the past eight decades, it has become one of Colorado’s most iconic and beloved restaurant brands, and for good reason,” Broomfield’s Mayor Guyleen Castriotta said in the news release. “We look forward to it becoming an integral part of our fast-growing and dynamic community. Nothing goes together better than the three B’s – burgers, beers and Broomfield.”

California firm buys Cherry Creek apartments

A 36-unit apartment complex in Cherry Creek has a new owner.

California real estate company Epp & Sons, Inc. bought One19 Cherry Creek for $23 million, according to commercial real estate broker CBRE.

The firm bought the apartment complex, built in 2021, from New York-based Ready Capital.

It’s an “ultra-luxury” apartment asset featuring two-bedrooms sized at nearly 1,400 square feet. Units feature walk-in closets, induction cookware, cabinet-covered refrigerators and dishwashers and “spa inspired” bathrooms.

The three-story building has a gym for residents, grilling stations, underground parking garage, a pet spa and 12 electric vehicle charging stations.

“One19 Cherry Creek is an exceptional asset and highly unique with unmatched interior finishes and an impressively built structured garage,” said CBRE Senior Vice President Andy Hellman in a statement. “The original construction cost on the asset was estimated at nearly $1,000,000, so there was a considerable discount to replacement cost.”

SpaceX dealer and plane installer expands to Denver

Elevate MRO, a company contracted by SpaceX to sell and install Starlink systems on business planes, announced it would open a new aircraft maintenance center at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield.

The Miami Beach-based company is boosting its presence in the West with its Denver expansion.

The new 17,000-square-foot facility will increase the company’s number of staff and maintenance teams. It will also add avionics services — servicing electric components on aircraft — as well as offering custom installations and maintenance, the announcement said.

The expansion will serve the Denver metro area and nearby resort airports.

“In addition to expanding our MRO footprint, this new facility will provide Elevate clients a home for owners who are looking for aircraft management services,” said Jim Slack, Elevate MRO president, in a statement.
