America’s ‘6th-favorite national park’ is located in Colorado, according to vote

Travel + Leisure recently published a list of the American’s 25 ‘favorite national parks’ as part of its “World’s Best Awards” survey for 2024, and one Colorado park made the cut to be included.

Readers shared their travel experiences and opinions for Travel + Leisure’s 2024 World’s Best Awards survey. Over 186,000 Travel + Leisure readers took part in the survey, and 700,000 votes were cast across over 8,700 travel-related properties including parks, hotels, and more.

When it came to national parks, readers rated the parks on natural attractions, activities, lodging, wildlife, accessibility, and cleanliness, with a final score created based on responses in all categories.

Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park ended up ranking in sixth place nationwide with a reader score of 86.21. Rocky Mountain National Park is 415 square miles and has an impressive range of mountain environments, including meadows, alpine lakes, and of course, the mountain peaks.

As well as the stunning scenery, Rocky Mountain National Park has incredible opportunities for a variety of outdoor recreation. Guests can go hiking, biking, camping, fishing, horseback riding, wildlife spotting, and more.
