Denver weather: Expect afternoon rain showers and a cool down Wednesday
frontpoint
Denver is forecast for a round of afternoon showers on Wednesday and highs in the upper 80s, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
There’s a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 3 and 5 p.m. Expect partly sunny skies and a high of 86 degrees.
“An isolated shower or storm is possible this morning, then scattered thunderstorms will develop and spread east across the area this afternoon and early evening,” the NWS said. “Stronger storms will be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall with minor street flooding, while burn scars may also be susceptible to debris flows should a stronger storm move across one of the 2020 burn scars.”
Looking ahead to Wednesday night, there’s a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms through 10 p.m. Expect partly cloudy skies and a low of 60 degrees.
Chances for storms decrease heading into Thursday as temperatures rise again to the 90s.
Rain and storms return to the area Friday with ample sunshine opportunities through the weekend.
