CDOT giving out free Uber credits ahead of Broncos home opener
The giveaway will take place Sunday morning at Empower Field
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the American Automobile Association (AAA) will be providing Broncos fans with free Uber rides Sunday morning.
Representatives from CDOT and AAA will be at Empower Field at Mile High in Lot C Sunday morning from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. providing tailgaters with $10 Uber credits — electronic funds able to be used for rideshare rides, according to a press release from CDOT.
The funds are being used to promote sober rides home for those attending the Broncos home opener at 2:25 p.m., the department said.
The promotion comes during the state’s “Heat is On DUI” enforcement period, which started on Sept. 12 and continues for 41 days.
The period includes increased police activity across 74 law enforcement agencies in an effort to lower DUIs. This work includes increased patrols, sobriety checkpoints and additional law enforcement on duty.
Last year there were 16,571 reported DUI arrests in Colorado. So far in 2024, Colorado has lost 141 lives in impaired driving-related crashes, the department said.
