Denver weather: Friday’s high could be the last of the 80s for awhile
If you thought yesterday was beautiful, get outside Friday around Denver, because it is going to be even better. But a big change is in store starting Saturday afternoon into Sunday.
Friday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 88, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. A south southwest wind will blow between 5 to 8 mph, becoming east southeast in the afternoon.
This could be the last high above 80 for the month too.
“Today will be the last day of above normal temperatures and dry conditions,” the NWS said. “Breezy southwest winds and low humidities will lead to near critical fire weather conditions mainly for Lincoln county and the Palmer Divide through early evening.”
Tonight it’ll be mostly clear, with a low around 55. East southeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming west in the evening.
Here’s the 4-day forecast from the National Weather Service.
Saturday: A slight chance of showers between noon and 3 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 68. West southwest wind 5 to 14 mph becoming east northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Sunday: A 50% chance of showers before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. North northeast wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 75.
Tuesday: A slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 67.
