No. 1 Denver Pioneers hockey beats No. 20 Wisconsin 4-2 at rocking Magness Arena

The No. 1-ranked University of Denver hockey team knocked off No. 20 Wisconsin 4-2 in front of another big crowd at home. The Pioneers (5-0-0) got goals from Eric Pohlkamp, Sam Harris, Cale Ashcroft and Carter King to skate past the Badgers (1-4-0) in front of 6,935.

The Pioneers are 6-0-1 in their past seven matchups with the Badgers, who were Western Collegiate Hockey Association mates from 1969-2013. Wisconsin then left for the Big Ten while Denver jumped to the NCHC. Wisconsin is playing in Denver for the first time since 2016.
Denver swept No. 19 Northeastern last weekend in a series that set home attendance records, including a single-game mark of 7,051 who watched the Pios raise their 10th NCAA championship banner.
Friday, Matt Davis made 31 saves for the Pioneers, who overcame a 1-0 deficit and won their 14th straight game dating back to last season. It’s the third-longest win streak across multiple seasons in program history.
