The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who attempted to kidnap a child and fled Saturday night.

Sheriff’s officials said the attempted kidnapping occurred at 8400 E. Yale Ave. shortly before 9:45 p.m. When deputies arrived, the suspect had left the scene.

Authorities described the suspect as a heavy-set man about 5-foot-10 inches tall.

He was seen wearing orange shoes, black pants, a hoodie featuring Mickey Mouse, and a black ski mask with curly hair visible through the eye holes, according to officials.

The vehicle at large is a black SUV with a black Colorado license plate. The car has the word “watermelon” in pink on the rear and Toy Story characters Woody and Slinky Dog under the right taillight, according to sheriff’s officials.

Authorities ask anyone with information to contact the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at 303-795-4711.
