MattGush
The Denver Police Department is seeking suspects and information regarding a fatal shooting late Friday night.
Officers responded to a shooting report near the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and North Cherry Street — near a Regional Transportation District bus stop in the South Park Hill neighborhood — around 10:30 p.m., according to a social media post from the department.
Upon arrival, officers found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Initially, the department reported that the extent of the injuries were unknown. In an update an hour later, the department reported that the victim had died, elevating the incident to a homicide investigation.
Detectives are working to develop suspect information, according to the department. Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
