The perfect ‘restaurant crawl’ through Vail for a ‘foodie’
Vail is known for its world-class skiing, but the town is also home to an incredible dining scene to match its world-class slopes.
Here’s a list of a few dining spots to visit while you’re in town:
Ludwig’s Breakfast at Sonnenalp Vail
Start your day off with a European-style breakfast at the Sonnenalp. Ludwig’s is in a glass enclosed terrace, so guests can overlook Gore Creek while they enjoy their breakfast.
Up The Creek
This family-owned restaurant specializes in gourmet, organic, farm-to-plate cuisine. The restaurant has been operating since 1988, serving food with ingredients from local and sustainable sources whenever possible. Up The Creek sits on the banks of Gore Creek and is home to Vail’s only creekside patio.
Los Amigos
Located mere steps away from Gondola One, Los Amigos serves great Mexican food. The restaurant is known for its deck where customers can enjoy margaritas, nachos, and more while watching people ski (and sometimes slide) down a steep run called Pepi’s Face.
Pepi’s Restaurant and Bar
Pepi’s is also only a short walk from the slopes and Gondola One, and is a popular place to grab drinks and appetizers for après-ski. As well as good food, this restaurant often offers live entertainment and a year-round deck for patrons to enjoy.
The Red Lion
The Red Lion is another après ski hot spot in Vail. Opened in 1962, the restaurant is part of Vail history. The restaurant offers tasty American food, live entertainment, and drinks for après-ski.
Sweet Basil
This modern American restaurant features “seasonal imaginative cuisine with an innovative array of diverse influences” and has a Michelin Star. The menu includes whipped feta, French onion lasagna, red snapped, and much more.
